Narrative: a night of stories.  Spin a yarn.  Read an essay.  Do a stand-up routine.  Read a poem.  Sing a song.  Bring puppets.  Anything is possible on this monthly open stage at The Grand.  Fact or fiction, pre-written or off the cuff, we want to hear it, as long as it’s narrative and under 7 minutes.  The kitchen is open, so you can make a night of it.  All are welcome; all ages, all walks of life.  Come down and tell a story or just watch the show.  Hosted by HBO’s Def Poetry Jam alum, Thadra Sheridan

We are so excited to add Narrative - Open Mic to our list of monthly events! The kitchen will be open, so you can grab dinner while you watch or perform, and as always the bar will be providing alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.  Everyone is welcome and encouraged to grace the stage with a story told your way, be that fact or fiction, poetry, song, prose, puppet show, whatever you want as long as it is a narrative and is under 7 minutes long!

Originally from Flandreau, South Dakota, Mike now calls Northfield home.

Doors to the Grand will open at 5:30. Bartending and kitchen staff will be on hand with drink and burger specials.

At 6 pm, National Poetry Slam poets Michael Shaeffer and special guest Thadra Sheridan will stage an hour's worth of entertaining and engaging material. NO COVER! Performance content from the new book of pop-culture poetry and mayhem includes a Prince-themed Monopoly board, a reimagination of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, Walt Disney's dying words, a group celebration of Edvard Munch's painting The Scream, and a poor goldfish that keeps getting flushed in the Stephen King universe.

Autographed copies of Irresistible Bricks will be available for sale immediately following the show. Get a copy while they're hot and irresistible!

BAND AT THE GRAND!  

Put Friday, March 13 on your calendar. The FiftyNorth Band is back at The Grand Event Center in downtown Northfield! The concert starts at 6:30pm.  There is no fee for the concert, but donations will be taken at the door.

You might imagine Phantoms and Scaredy Cats, hear Teddy Bears, Moose & Squirrel, or even hear sounds of a Fair. It’s all there at Band at the Grand!

You heard about it last year; here is your chance to experience it for yourself!  Band at the Grand!  See *you* there!

The Grand will have food available for purchase BEFORE the concert, at 5pm

Bows, Stings & Contentment returns to The Grand on Sunday March 8th to celebrate the Music of Europe!
